All teas are sourced exclusively from XiGui MangLu, Lincang, Yunnan — one of the most prestigious tea-producing regions in China. We work directly with the Shi family, a 6th-generation farming family of Yi ethnic heritage who have cultivated these ancient trees for over 150 years.
Q: What makes XiGui MangLu puerh tea worth the price?
XiGui MangLu ancient tree puerh is among the most sought-after tea in Yunnan. The trees are centuries old, growing in natural forest conditions alongside native plants and wildlife. This produces a depth of flavour, mineral complexity, and aging potential that plantation teas simply cannot replicate. The supply is limited by nature — there are only so many ancient trees, and only one harvest per year.
Q: What is the difference between Sui Gong and Loong Yuan?
Both are XiGui MangLu raw puerh (shengcha), but they differ in harvest year and character. Sui Gong (7621) is a Spring 2021 harvest aged 5 years — it has developed woody undertones and a layered sweetness from years of natural compression aging. Loong Yuan (7611) is a Spring 2024 harvest, younger and more vibrant with stronger honey and floral aromatics. Sui Gong suits buyers who prefer depth and age; Loong Yuan suits those who prefer freshness and floral energy.
